ProCollective
I co-founded ProCollective and led the development. It was a system for managing freelancers, used by companies like Publicis Groupe. It had to work for two groups: freelancers managing their own work, and large companies keeping track of projects and compliance.
The first version was a Vue app on a Rails backend. Moving to Rails with Stimulus and Turbolinks made us faster at shipping. We shut it down in 2022.
Advising
Alongside ProCollective I advised Mindpool and a few other startups on product, architecture and growing the team. Mindpool was later acquired.
Technical due diligence
I do technical due diligence for VCs. I look at the codebase, the team and the technical risks, and write down what I find so they can decide.
What I took from it
Starting a company teaches you to cut what doesn’t matter. Advising and diligence let you see many companies, and you start to spot the same problems.
